Octave Lighting
Octave Lighting is a trading name set up to provide Live Events solutions for small and large scale music and performing arts tours, solely run by freelancer James Gilliver.
The service provides freelance technical and physical skillsets to the Live Events Industry, with 5 years of real-world experience, and a UK university degree to supply professional standards of work.
The proprietor has obtained professional industry recognised technical training, including the use of Avolites, ETC and Chamsys lighting software, with the addition of 'hands-on' training in the form of a Counterbalance Forklift licence, NPORS Telehandler licence, and IPAF 3a & 3b licences.
About Me.
I'm a 23 year old originally from Macclesfield in Cheshire UK, now living in Sydney Australia after moving to Wakefield, West Yorkshire UK, to undertake a 3-year Bachelor of Arts course in Live Events Production, of which I graduated from in June 2023. During my time at university, I obtained a detailed understanding of staging and sets, lighting, sound, and video systems used within Live Events such as music gigs and festivals, and theatre performances.
I have practical experience of designing, installing, and operating lighting, video and sound systems for the industry, and I am passionate about all aspects of live events where I work enthusiastically as part of large and small teams using effective communication and organisation skills and a great attention to detail.
